The world we live in

We live in a world where nearly 60 million people have been forced to flee their homes because of violence or persecution. These people are displaced. They are in a desperate search for better places to live – but often they are forced to travel hundreds of miles through conditions just as bad as the places they are fleeing from. This is a world that needs change. And we are here to help make that change happen.

They are refugees.

It’s a term under the UN 1951 Refugee Convention.

This number is growing by the year.

We’re here to change that.

So, what can you do?

Chapter 01 The Hive

What is the Hive?

The Hive is transforming the way Americans engage in social issues.

We’re mapping out solutions for the most pressing issues of our time.

And we are assembling the best, brightest, and smartest people we can find to help us light the way.

Chapter 02 Who we are

The Hive is transforming the ways in which Americans engage with the refugee crisis.

We are here as a special projects unit of the UN’s Refugee Agency (UNHCR).

We’re changing the way Americans change the world.

Chapter 03 How we help

Our Approach

We’re building knowledge about issues relating to refugees so that Americans will grow more committed to solving the refugee crisis.

We’re using data science to identify and micro-target prospective supporters.

And we’re developing strategic partnership opportunities for corporations and brands that change everything we know about philanthropy and advocacy.

This is not about charity. We’re here to help the United States solve a problem that truly only the United States can solve.

We’re here to unlock the potential of the U.S. market – both in terms of fundraising and advocacy – in support of the most pressing issue of our time.

Chapter 04 The path

The Path We’ll Take

  • Data Rich

Proprietary data informed ideas and decisions.

  • Audience-Centric

What it will take for Americans to engage? We’ll organize our efforts to meet their needs.

  • Trust and Engagement

Genuine opportunities for individuals to play a role in making change.

  • Content Heavy

We think like a publisher and act like a media company. We are creating information, experiences and “stuff” that will drive engagement, understanding, and involvement.

  • Digital-First

All-inclusive content approach designed to maximize storytelling across digital platforms.

Chapter 05 What you can do

You can help. Here’s how…

Wanted: Partners, rock stars, agencies, not your average vendor.

We can’t make change happen alone or over night – that is why we need you. We are bringing together the smartest and most innovative partners in the U.S. to help us reach, educate and engage American’s on today’s most pressing issues.

Here are a few ways we’ll do it…
